INFORMATION FOR PIERCING MINORS

 

We do not perform earlobe piercings (or any piercings) with a piercing gun. Instead, we use sterile equipment and a single-use needle, as we do with all our other piercings. This ensures every client gets a safe and easy to heal piercing.

 

At the beginning of the appointment, the piercer will discuss the procedure with the parent(s) or guardian(s) and the minor.

If the piercer feels the minor is not ready for the responsibility of the piercing, the piercer may decline to perform the procedure. 

 

Likewise, if the piercer feels it is not in the minor’s best interest to continue once started, we may stop and suggest that the minor come back at a later date. These decisions are made with the minor’s best interest in mind. 

 

Our piercing room can only accommodate a limited number of people. For this reason, we can only allow one parent/guardian to be present.

 

WHY WE DON'T USE PIERCING GUNS 

 

• Piercing guns cannot be effectively sterilized, and there are documented cases of disease transmission from piercing guns. 

 

• Gun studs do not accommodate for the varying thicknesses of ears and earlobes, and the studs can easily become embedded.

 

• Piercing studs are not usually made from implant-grade materials, and as a result, reactions to the jewelry are not uncommon, especially for those with a sensitivity to nickel. 

 

• Operators working at piercing kiosks are not trained in bloodborne pathogens and disease transmission.

 

• Getting your ear cartilage pierced with a gun can be especially dangerous and carries a risk of permanent damage.

MINORS 16-17

 

Minor must have a Government Issued ID or Birth Certificate as well as a Notarized Consent Form and must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Gaurdian.

 

MINORS 5-15

 

Minor must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Guardian with Government Issued ID as well as a Notarized Consent Form.
